HHA’s Plaque Program is a physical reminder for Hudson’s citizen’s -present and future- of Hudson’s heritage.
The Marker program was instituted in 1973 and all structures in the town built before 1912 are eligible. This important program for Hudson Heritage Association not only allows us to identify historic homes and their dates, but aids in the preservation of these older homes.
HHA's Survey and Research Committee will provide a thorough research of your structure and present you with a detailed report for a contribution to HHA in the amount of $300.00, payable $150.00 when report begins and $150.00 when report is completed.
With this contribution, you will receive an official HHA plaque for your home with the home’s name and date, a comprehensive and professionally compiled house report, and a presentation by the researcher(s) at a HHA monthly meeting. We also feature newly plaqued homes in our monthly newsletter.
If you wish to conduct the research on your home yourself, you may do so. If you wish to do the research yourself, you will need to meet with the HHA Survey and Research Committee to discuss the process and requirements. If you conduct the research yourself, the price is $150.00.
Please visit this web site under “Marker Program” for examples of more recent house reports. In addition, the Archives at the Hudson Library and Historical Society and the Hudson Heritage office have copies of previously completed house reports.
If you have any questions about this program, or would like to begin research on your home, please e-mail Katie Kagler at kskagler@alltel.net.
We ask that you keep in mind that we do have a waiting list of homes to be researched, and research can take more than a year (or even two) to complete.
